Job Description:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or any relevant course
- Preferably a Certified Public Accountant, US CMA, and/or Enrolled Agent
- Must have a valid PTIN (from IRS)
- At least 3 years of work experience as a US Tax Accountant in a US public accounting firm
- Strong working knowledge of S-Corp, partnership, and individual taxation
- Familiarity with trusts, estates, and nonprofit returns is highly valued
- Must have hands-on experience preparing New York State and city tax returns, including compliance with local filing requirements
- Proficiency with professional tax software (Drake, Lacerte, ProSeries, UltraTax, and/or CCH Axcess)
- Proficiency in Excel for managing and analyzing financial data
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in tax filings and documentation
- Amenable to work in a Hybrid set-up
- Willing to work the night shift
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and reviewing individual (1040), partnership (1065), S-Corporation (1120-S), C-Corporation (1120), trust/estate (1041), and nonprofit (990/990-EZ) returns.
- Developing tax projections, multi-year planning models, and client tax strategy analyses.
- Identifying planning opportunities around entity selection, retirement plans, income timing, and deductions.
- Drafting or contributing to tax planning memos and client deliverables.
- Perform tax-related research to stay updated on federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Collaborate with other team members to resolve tax questions and provide support during tax return reviews
- Maintain thorough documentation of client information and ensure data integrity
- Communicating clearly with clients and our internal team, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism
- Utilize tax preparation software to prepare and file returns efficiently
